TJ + Jenn (Hood River Wedding Photographer, Columbia Gorge Wedding Photographer)
I remember being pretty stoked when TJ called me to talk over wedding photography - most importantly, it was HIS wedding - he had met the love of his life and I couldn't have been happier for my friend. TJ and I met while working in the kiteboarding industry. We worked for the same company for a few years and developed a solid friendship during that time. When I met Jenn it didn't take but a few minutes for me to see their connection ... it's hard for me to put into words ..but sometimes you are around people and it just feels right ...like they were meant to be together ........ their energy is good and you can definitely see the love between them. I've always known TJ to be a kind person and Jenn is a kindred soul in that aspect ..she is truly so very kind as well ..which I think says a lot about the foundation of their relationship. They both have a deep love for the Gorge and the outdoors so we made their session all about just that..the Gorge..lots of waterfalls and hiking paths. It couldn't have been better...Enjoy!

Multnomah Falls .. we even cleared the bridge :)

Deep in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge..rolling streams..rocks..waterfalls..perfection..

Such good times..one of those days you never forget..

The lighting set up perfect for some really rich black and white...

It's so amazing to watch the natural love come out between two people...

Ken + Jaime (Columbia Gorge Wedding Photographer)

Ken and Jaime had one of the most beautiful day's of the summer. Blue sky, light breeze...simply amazing. Having met in Oregon while working in the forests, they both wanted to return here for their wedding day. They invited only family..small and intimate..and it turned out simply beautiful. They were blessed to find Sakura Ridge in Hood River..a wonderful property with Mt. Hood views in combination with stunning flowers, rolling orchards, geese and forest. They chose to hold the ceremony among the trees before celebrating over a gourmet dinner featuring ingredients from the gardens. The forest photographs are among my favorite wedding images ever..the way the light came through the trees and sort of embraced them was indeed beautiful. Much love Ken and Jaime...

George + Madison E session (Hood River Wedding Photographer)
I always a love a touch of serendipity when shooting..that unexpected element can take something great and make it incredible. Such was the day for George and Madison. They were out all the way from New York. Madison is an Oregon girl and wanted George to see what an amazing place we live in...George is a tried and true New Yorker...who has never seen a fir tree outside of a living room during Christmas. Not only did he get to see a few fir trees, but also one of the finest days ever in the Gorge. Rarely do we get lenticular clouds mixed with blue skies...generally our weather is pretty clear or pretty gray..with the occasional puffy clouds..but on the night of George and Madison's shoot, the sky was the craziest I've ever seen. Lenticular, spiraling clouds where everywhere..the sky was a rich blue underneath..and the light was very warm and even..almost like a Hollywood set. In over a decade of photographing in the Gorge, I've never shot in anything like it..and George and Madison were the lucky ones that got to enjoy that epic evening..just one week after becoming engaged. We had an amazing time riding around this beautiful area and capturing everything from Mt. Hood to the great Columbia River. They wanted images that included the scenery and beauty of Oregon and we were blessed with a day that was beyond expectations. One of my favorite moments was watching them walk down the railroad tracks as the sun set behind the hills..we used every drop of light that beautiful evening...as we should have..much love George and Madison..enjoy these memories for a lifetime..

Yes..we ran out in the middle of the highway for this one :)

Check out that sky...

Loved this set...

This one is for George..a New York Firefighter..in the background lower right you can see one of our Oregon wildfires..

What a way to end the evening..couldn't have been any more beautiful..
Adam + Molly (Mt. Hood Organic Farm Wedding Photographer)
I remember waiting to meet Adam and Molly for the first time at The Nines hotel in downtown Portland for the night of their rehearsal dinner. Up to this point we had never met face to face. The atrium was pretty full..guests were enjoying cocktails and sitting in the various areas throughout the open room...and I was hoping I would recognize who they were so we could have a good introduction. No sooner had I thought that when Adam and Molly walked into the room..I'm not sure they noticed, but just about every face in the place turned to watch them walk through..I knew instantly..but aside from that, they looked amazing. They have good style together. I like that. I think the same thing can be said for them on their wedding day..they looked amazing..the moody Hood River weather swirled away and they enjoyed an a beautiful ceremony on the lawns at Mt. Hood Organic Farm...a personal note from President Obama was even presented..and then they danced the night away surrounded by the best family and friends. Much love..
A few looks for the rehearsal evening..

And on their beautiful wedding day..

The grounds at Mt. Hood Organic Farms are amazing..

Josh + Adrienne (Manhattan Beach wedding photographer)
Live. Love. Laugh Often.
Happiness and more happiness. The amount of joy shared at Josh and Adrienne's wedding was simply awesome. They laughed, they danced, they kissed, they cried, they rapped, they smashed cake and......they said 'i do.' I won't wax on and on about this, that and other - it was simply awesome. I've known Adrienne for a few years now, and my lucky wife happened to be visiting her sister (who happens to be one of Adrienne's best friends) the night Adrienne met Josh. They were at the famous - or perhaps infamous - North End bar in Hermosa Beach. Josh noticed this pretty girl looking over at his table...he thought she was scoping out their chairs waiting for a chance to steal one. Little did he know his future wife was thinking "that boy over there is cute!". Well...Adrienne never got Josh's chair, but she did get his number and ultimately his heart. They are like two kids in a candy store when they are around each other - they laugh, the smile - the real kind of fun, ya know? The moment I walked into Josh's hotel room the morning of the wedding to meet him and his brothers, the smiles started and they never stopped. What an awesome family. It's a beautiful thing to see so much joy in people's lives. I found myself laughing and smiling throughout the day simply because it was just so much fun. Thank you both for inviting me to your beautiful, fun, intimate and so. very. happy. wedding. Much love and laughs throughout your life together! Enjoy every second of the good love!
